FROM

Domžale, Slovenia

Bjorn builds carbon saddles by hand in Domžale, Slovenia, and builds them light: 107 grams for the cork-topped Probka, 117 for the short-nosed Kort. Shells and rails are made in-house, with static and dynamic load testing at every stage of production.

There are four saddles in the range, and what separates them is what sits on top of the carbon. The Setka and Kort have 3D-printed pads, the Probka has cork, and the Divan has kangaroo leather over dual-density foam. All four come in 143 mm and 155 mm widths.

The Setka is the one you’ll have seen most often on our custom builds. We’ve fitted it to Factor, Parlee, Sarto and Mosaic bikes, a few of our own among them.

The Bjorn Saddle Range

Bjorn was founded in 2016 by two engineers, Ivan and Artem: one with a background in aerospace composites, the other a mechanical engineer who rides road. The company makes its saddles, seatposts and handlebars in-house, so it controls the quality of each one from start to finish.

Carbon Underneath

Every Bjorn saddle sits on a carbon shell with a triangular reinforcement pattern underneath. The carbon rails aren’t glued on. They’re inserted into reinforced slots in the shell, which Bjorn says is more reliable than adhesive bonding for very little extra weight. The rails are 7x9 mm, so check that your seatpost clamp takes oval carbon rails. The limit for rider plus saddle bag is 120 kg.

Choosing a Width

Bjorn sizes by sit-bone width: the 143 mm saddle suits a measurement of 115 to 125 mm, and the 155 mm suits 125 to 140 mm. If you don’t know yours, a Regroup FIT session includes saddle pressure mapping, or ask us before you order.
