More about the Bastion Archetype
The Archetype meets the road with Bastion's unparalleled blend of materials, notably filament-wound carbon fiber tubes sculpted into NACA aero profiles, and joined together by 3D-printed titanium lugs - themselves things of staggering beauty and story. Appropriately, as a modern road bike, Archetype rides with tire clearance up to 34mm and a UDH-compatible rear axle.
Commenting on the release, Bastion's Co-CEO, Ben Schultz, said, "The Archetype embodies everything Bastion stands for: craftsmanship, performance, and pushing boundaries. It's the purest expression of our design and engineering ethos to date." On the topic of Archetype's aero optimizations, he added, "We've taken the lessons of the past decade — from filament winding to moulded carbon fibre techniques — and redefined their potential in a new aerodynamic context."

A Bike Of Big Numbers
The Archetype is a product of more than 70 hours of craftsmanship and a further 130 of machine hours.
Faster Than Ever
Compared to Bastion's Icon Superleggera, the Archetype is 6–8 watts faster across 0–15° yaw angles at 35 km/h. At higher speeds, the gains are even more dramatic: at 50 km/h, the Archetype slashes aerodynamic drag by an astonishing 18–25 watts.
Introducing Ascendant Complexity
Bastion reimagined every surface and joint, leveraging over a decade of experience to refine finishes and create a frame that celebrates the raw beauty of its materials. It calls this approach 'Ascendant Complexity'.
