More about the Pegoretti Elio
Fittingly for a Pegoretti bicycle, Elio starts with a story. “Niente lacci!” their neighbour was reported to have said after seeing Pegoretti’s newest road bike for the first time. She’d spotted Elio’s most obvious difference — internal routing. Or, in her words, no laces.
Named after the first son of one of Pegoretti’s artisans, Elio carries the legacy of Italian craftsmanship with a new edge. Internal cabling? Absolutely. But there’s more to the story: a quiet obsession with balance, flow, and feel that guided months of development.
Elio blends hyper-custom Columbus XCR stainless steel with an evolution - you might say revolution - of the Pegoretti design language. At first glance, the tubes appear static, but, like Elio at pace, they ride with a refreshing liveliness. For example, Elio’s top tube tapers from 35mm, where it meets the head tube, to 31.7mm at the seat tube. It’s a subtle move, but one that helps offset the visual impact of a larger head tube, which measures 56mm to accommodate internal routing - a first on a Pegoretti. The down tube is the biggest yet on a Pegoretti, up from 39mm to 42mm.
Up front, the Italian-made carbon fiber fork runs straight, aero-forward and stiff when it matters. It’s clean and rides with radical precision.
Pietro from Pegoretti says that they use steel because it has a memory. It bends, travels with you, forgives. And stays. Elio rides like that. It launches with intent, settles into a rhythm, and then tempts you into another turn, another effort, another summit, for a lifetime of inspired riding. One of the reasons Elio rides with such a deep connection to the road is its lowered bottom bracket, which sits closer to the action than ever before. Dive into corners, push the pace, and you’ll be surprised what opens up. Elio invites you to lean in, but it won’t let you go.
Need numbers? Tire clearance up to 32mm. Full disc. UDH compatible. Designed specifically for electronic drivetrains. Elio is an unapologetically pure road machine built for those who keep chasing more.
Customization is always on the cards at Pegoretti, from the choice of a standard or custom geometry to the famous/infamous Ciavete art, beloved by Robin Williams among many, to a choice of solid colours or one of hundreds of Pegoretti geometric designs. Cockpit options range from Enve paired with a Chris King headset, all-Deda, and Columbus—or mix and match your own with any stem that has a minimum internal diameter of 25mm.
THE FINER DETAILS

The Best of Both Worlds
With UDH compliance, internal routing, electronic-only groupset compatibility and disc brakes, Elio marries modern expectations with timeless Italian manufacturing. Each Elio is handmade, brought to the road one tube at a time to the rider's specifications at Pegoretti's storied Bottega in Verona.

EYES ON THE ROAD
With 32mm tire clearance, Elio is an unashamedly pure road bike. Rather than meld attributes from different styles and trend towards all-road and light gravel, Elio keeps its eyes on the asphalt and the finish line flag.

THE COLOR OF CUSTOM
Pegoretti is renowned for the artistry of its paint schemes, which include Ciavate, a freeform, improvised medium inspired by the client and the moment, the result of which remains a surprise until the moment you receive your frame. For those less keen to hand over creative control, Pegoretti's geometric paint schemes ride with singular taste and expression. Below the surface, Elio is available with standard or custom geometry, depending on your preference and the result of your bike fit.
