ONE or OSTRO VAM?
Factor build two bikes for going fast on the road, and choosing between them is the question this page usually raises. The short version:
- The ONE is the specialist. Whole-stage aerodynamics, a front end with no traditional stem, and a position drawn for holding speed — the bike Factor built to win the sprint after six hours of racing.
- The OSTRO VAM is the all-rounder. A sub-7kg aero bike that climbs, sprints and handles cobbles, and gives up remarkably little to the ONE anywhere but the flattest, fastest finales.
- Both are electronic-only and both are built around Black Inc wheels and cockpits — so the choice is about the riding you do, not the componentry.
The honest answer is that most riders are better served by the OSTRO VAM, and the riders the ONE is for tend to know it already. We rode them back to back and wrote down exactly where each one pulls ahead — worth ten minutes before you decide.

Aero Meets Comfort
The bold geometry of the Factor ONE may look extreme, but every line serves a purpose. By decoupling the mounting area of the bar and stem from the frame’s center axis of rotation, the bike gains 50% more handlebar stiffness over the brand's AB02 model, while allowing a limited stack increase (spacers + secondary bar) that preserves an aero profile. The result: a rider-first position that stays comfortable for long-duration efforts, translating comfort directly into speed.
Fit Without Compromise
No traditional stem means a clean, aerodynamic front end. Instead, Factor ONE uses a simple numbered “stem-equivalent” system (1–5) that maps directly to Ostro stem lengths, letting fitters dial in the exact reach without adding weight or drag. Combined with 15mm of stock spacers and optional secondary bars (+20mm), the bike offers a ±35mm fit range while keeping the aero envelope intact.
Size-Specific Handling
Small frames (54cm and below) receive the steepest head-tube angles (up to +2.5°) to preserve front-center distance, delivering razor-sharp handling and reduced “flop” at low speeds. Larger frames (56–58cm) gain a longer wheelbase and lower bottom bracket, giving a stable, confidence-boosting feel that lets riders “sit in the bike” rather than on it. Across the range, the bike feels uniformly snappy and predictable.
