Factor Aluto Gravel Bike
The top of the podium meets punchy endurance with Factor's racey 'all-rounder' gravel bike.
Factor Aluto Gravel Bike
Meet the Aluto: the newest high-performance gravel bike from Factor. Engineered to bring the British brand’s signature sharp handling to long-distance racing, training, and exploring, the Aluto stands alongside the Factor OSTRO Gravel — not beneath it – as a supremely balanced endurance-focused machine, in contrast to the OSTRO Gravel’s singular focus on pure racing. Agile, composed, and built for the long haul, the Aluto redefines the racey all-rounder.

More About the Aluto
"We've taken Factor's signature handling and engineered it into a bike that can go further, adapt better, and still feel unmistakably Factor," said David Millar, Factor's Brand Director, before the launch. And we'd be quick to agree - the Aluto's shape is definitely in line with Factor's design language. That it stands so cohesively in the Factor range is a credit to Aluto's designer, Mike McGinn, who expanded on David's comments, saying, "One of the major highlights of the Aluto is the delicate dance and balance of all its elements. While most companies are focusing on maximum volume of tires, we're painstakingly balancing the bike to provide a ride experience that is holistic, purposeful, and absolutely high performance."
All of which is to say, the Aluto takes in a wider field of view than the OSTRO Gravel. At least, that is, if you're looking for a trail bike that's designed for gravel of all grades, from overnight, no-sleep adventures, multi-day epics and out-and-backs, to finding the fastest line on the race to the finish. Because make no mistake, this is a Factor. It wants to win.
Aluto vs. OSTRO Gravel
In Factor's world, Aluto is the equal of the OSTRO Gravel, but it's tuned to hit different. Both embody Factor’s signature design language, but each is targeted towards a different style of gravel riding. Here's how they stack up.
Feature | Factor Aluto | Factor OSTRO Gravel |
---|---|---|
Ride Personality | Balanced, composed, versatile | Aggressive, ultra-responsive, race-focused |
Ideal For | Long-distance racing, training, and exploring | High-speed gravel racing and fast-paced events |
Handling | Lively yet stable — lower BB, higher stack, steeper head | Razor-sharp — lower stack, aggressive geometry |
Tyre Optimisation | 45 mm (47 mm rear / 52 mm front clearance) | 40–45 mm (race-optimized clearance) |
Comfort vs. Speed Bias | Comfort-leaning without losing speed | Speed-leaning without compromise |
Rider Position | More upright and adaptable | Lower and more aggressive |
Storage & Utility | Integrated downtube storage + 1x / 2x compatible | Minimalist race-first setup |
Bottom line:
- Choose Aluto if you want intuitive handling with extra comfort and stability for going long.
- Choose OSTRO Gravel if you want pure, race-winning performance.
THE FINER DETAILS

Balanced Geometry for All-Day Speed
The Factor Aluto combines sharp handling with all-day composure thanks to a considered geometry that still slays when you turn up the wick. A steeper head angle and short chainstays give the bike a lively, responsive feel, while a lower bottom bracket drops the center of gravity to keep it rock-solid on loose terrain. A slightly higher stack adds comfort and adaptability without sacrificing a race-ready fit, striking a strong balance between agility and endurance.

Optimized for Real-World Gravel
The Aluto is purpose-built for the demands of modern gravel riding. Its geometry is centred around 45 mm tires, with room for up to 47 mm at the rear and 52 mm at the front, giving you the traction and cushioning to handle rougher routes. Fully internal, mechanic-friendly cable routing keeps maintenance simple and the lines clean, and its compatibility with both 1x and 2x drivetrains (Shimano 12s or SRAM AXS) means you can tailor the setup to your style of riding.

Engineered Integration for Long Haul Flare
Every detail of the Aluto has been designed to support long-distance performance without dampening the fire of fast loops. The integrated downtube storage keeps tools and essentials secure without adding clutter, while the gravel-specific Black Inc HB05 Bar/stem delivers confident control with its shallow drop, flared shape, and hidden cable ports. The result is a sleek, fully integrated cockpit and seamless shift to the frame that gives goosebumps. It's a beautiful bike.
