If you've searched "how much does a bike fit cost," you already know the frustrating part: most shops make you call or walk in before they'll tell you a number. Here's the straight answer for Regroup FIT — the full menu, what each session includes, and what you actually get for the money. A Regroup FIT is led by motion analyst Barry Anderson in our dedicated fit studio at Regroup in Tempe, Arizona. It's the ultimate step in the right direction — greater comfort, control and speed, backed by real data rather than eyeballing.

What You Get for $399

The headline Regroup FIT is $399 and runs about three hours. That’s not a quick saddle-height check — it’s a full session:

  • A proper conversation first.  We start with your injury history, your goals, and how you and your bike are actually getting along.
  • A cycling-specific physical evaluation — measuring your feet, assessing hip and spinal mobility.
  • Data capture that means something. High-speed video from five angles plus GebioMized saddle pressure mapping.
  • A read-through of the data over a coffee from the Regroup Café

Some changes are simple — move a saddle, adjust cleats. Others take new equipment. You decide what we work on. It’s your bike; you make the calls. We take thorough notes and can check off changes at a rate that suits you and your budget.

Buying a new bike? The $399 covers that too

In the era of integrated front-ends and one-piece cockpits, calling yourself “a 54” is a starting point, not a size. Hydraulic lines hide inside cockpits of varying sizes; seatposts are proprietary with different offsets and lengths — and that’s before crank length and gear ratios. Getting it wrong on a custom build is expensive.

A Regroup FIT on our size cycle identifies not just the right frame size but every measurement that matters. If we’ve fitted you before, we book two hours and treat it as a Second Bike Fit. If it’s your first time, it’s a full Regroup FIT on the size cycle. Either way, it’s your insurance policy against a costly mistake — and the natural first step toward a custom build.

A basic shop fit is fine for tweaking a bike you already ride comfortably. What you’re paying for at Regroup — and at a good Retul studio — is measurement, analysis and a fitter who does this for a living. The difference is a fit built on data you can see, plus a record we keep so your next fit doesn’t start from zero.

Common Questions

What does a Regroup FIT session cost?

A full Regroup FIT is $399 and takes about three hours, whether it’s on your existing bike or on our size cycle for a new one. Follow-ups are $120, a second-bike (N+1) fit is $199, and junior fits start at $150.

What's included at each price tier?

The $399 Regroup FIT covers the full assessment: physical evaluation, five-angle video, saddle pressure mapping and a data debrief. The $120 Follow-up FIT (up to 90 min) is a tune-up for a changing position. The $199 N+1 fit applies your existing fit data to another bike without repeating the whole process. AiRO adds CFD aero analysis for $199.

How does this compare to a generic shop fit or a Retul fit elsewhere?

A free or low-cost shop fit is usually a quick visual adjustment. Regroup FIT is a three-hour, data-driven session — closer to (and often more thorough than) a full Retul fit, which typically runs $200–$400. The key differences are the depth of assessment, the fitter’s experience, and that we keep your data for future fits.

How long does a fit take, and when should you get one?

Budget about three hours for a full fit, up to 90 minutes for a follow-up or second-bike fit. Get one when you’re buying a new bike, dealing with discomfort or niggles, changing your position, or simply want to ride faster and longer without paying for it later.

Do you offer fit credit toward a custom build?

Getting fitted on our size cycle is the smartest first step before commissioning a custom bike — it guarantees every measurement is right before you commit. For current details on how a FIT factors into a build, drop us a line or swing by the shop.
