Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the rider. Give us a great-looking bike, and after a few seconds of gazing in wonder, we're ready to learn more. But the more is where a lot of bikes fall short and the story comes to an end. Unfortunately, what catches the eye doesn't always carry through to the details that matter—things like origin, material, craft and quality.

So when we first saw the Pegoretti Elio, we weren’t thinking about its custom stainless steel frame or the fact that it’s handmade in Italy by genuine artisans with a heritage of making bikes for legends like Pantani, Indurain and many other giants of professional cycling. We just wanted to ride it. And ride it. It looks so freaking good. At every angle, Elio’s looks hold:  a stunner with a story.

How it became so balanced is the story of how Elio came to pass, how Pietro, co-owner of Pegoretti and Master of the ‘Bottega’, worked tirelessly to evolve the Pegoretti design language to incorporate internal routing and create a wholly new, hyper-modern racing bike. His decisions informed Elio’s tapering top tube, its enlarged downtube and the melding of Pegoretti’s oversized signature stays. Specifications that would be irrelevant if the sum wasn’t so pleasing. It just works.

We’ll have an interview with Pietro here soon. In the meantime, enjoy the film above and the gallery below. And don’t forget, as an official Pegoretti partner, Regroup is the perfect place to start your Elio story, whether you live nearby or far away.
