AN AERO ARROW
Factor’s goal when designing the Ostro VAM was to create the lightest aero-oriented bike in the pro peloton. That the brand succeeded is evidenced by the fact that the Ostro VAM has since proved its mettle on multiple course profiles, winning sprints, conquering cobbles, and summiting with the very best.
VERY FAST FORWARD
Compared to Factor’s outgoing model, after 40km, the new Ostro VAM is a dot in the distance. Compared to its rivals, it’s feet-up at the finish, eating a sandwich and sipping a nice cup of tea (well, Factor did start in the UK, you know). How Factor made the current version of the Ostro VAM so darn fast is down to its focus on influencing airflow the most, which took them to the front of the bike. To see what gains could be had at the sharp end, Factor’s engineers developed a Rapid Iterative Design process that simulated dozens of head tube profiles and considered every transition and surface on the frameset. The result is what you see - a true airfoil-type profile along the waterline of the Ostro VAM. Further wind tunnel testing verified that the new OSTRO VAM outperforms the market.
WATTS NOT WEIGHT
The new Ostro VAM is a sub-7kg aero weapon: light, stiff, and effective in the wind.
